"The topic of drunk driving is already close to my heart since I've had friends and family directly impacted by it."
COLUMBUS, OH, May 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Connor Lehan has been announced as 2022's winner of the Fitch Law Firm Anti-Drunk Driving PSA Scholarship, worth $2,500. Lehan created a short YouTube video featuring three college students interviewed about the dangers of drunk driving.
"The topic of drunk driving is already close to my heart since I've had friends and family directly impacted by it," Lehan told representatives of the Fitch Law Firm. "Also, the opportunity to use my video production skills to create a video about drunk driving is mainly what drew me to this topic."
Those video production skills come from Connor Lehan's pursuit of a degree in Media Studies at the University of Maine. "After I graduate, I hope I'll be able to find a job that will allow me to use these skills and challenge me as I progress further in life," Lehan said.
This is not the first time that Connor Lehan has engaged in public service and extracurricular activities in service of others. While in high school, he volunteered at his local library and food kitchen. He was also involved in the Speech Team, Model United Nations, and National Honor Society.
In the public service announcement that won him Fitch Law Firm's scholarship, Lehan entreats the viewer with several crucial statements at the end. "You have the ability to walk away," the screen tells us. "You have the ability to save a life." It is the hope of Fitch Law Firm that this scholarship helps reduce the amount of drunk driving wrecks in years to come.
