Korea Pack 2022 & ICPI WEEK 2022 held at KINTEX from the 14th… 600 Companies Participating with 3,000

    LOS ANGELES, CA, June 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The exhibition, co-hosted by the Korea Packaging Machinery Association, The Monthly Packaging, and Kyungyon Exhibition Corp., will be held until the 17th with 600 companies participating and 3,000 booths in operation.

This year's Korea Pack is being held at KINTEX 1 and is comprised of; Hall 1 Korea International Materials Handling & Logistics Exhibition (Korea Mat); Halls 2-5 Packaging machinery, materials, eco-friendly packaging, Cosmetic-Pharmaceutical-Bio Process & Technology Exhibition (Cophex), and the International Exhibition for Chemical Processing, Fine & Specialty Chemicals (Korea Chem).At the same time the ICPI Week (International Cosmetics Pharmaceutical Industry Week) exhibition and conference for pharmaceutical and cosmetic product development will be held at KINTEX 2 (Halls 7 and 8), providing information on related industries to visitors of the packaging exhibition.

The Korea Pack exhibition showcases the manufacturing process, packaging equipment, packaging materials and converting of all industries including food, beverage, bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, household goods, and chemical industry, as well as the entire supply chain of logistics, distribution, and automation after packaging all in one place. It is an international trade exhibition where you can directly see innovative packaging technologies and products for the growth of manufacturing in Korea, and receive consultations from packaging experts.

In particular, it is drawing attention because visitors can see all the new products and technologies from top domestic and foreign packaging companies, which were not accessible since the 2018 exhibition due to COVID-19.

The Korea Packaging Machinery Association, the only packaging machinery organization in Korea that has Korean packaging machine manufacturers and related parts service companies as members, is supporting 71 member companies in their application for the Korea Pack. This year, about 7,200㎡ (800 booths) of exhibition space is being used to display the latest packaging machines and actively introduce them to the production managers of packaging machines necessary for various industries, from food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries to cosmetics, petrochemical and EOL (EOL) technologies.

The exhibition will also feature foreign national pavilions. Italy and India will introduce their country's leading packaging companies to Korean packaging consumers, distribution and packaging companies at Korea Pack 2022, and set up a National Pavilion for networking.

UCIMA, Italy's leading packaging and packaging machinery association, dispatched 10 companies' delegations, and IPMMI, an Indian packaging machinery association also dispatched 13 companies to participate. In particular, India is the world's leading pharmaceutical producer and a major exporter for Korean packaging machine manufacturers. In addition, it is one of the world's leading exporters of raw material drugs, and has prepared 40 companies' consultation booths, including raw material drugs, at the International Pharmaceutical & Bio-Pharma Exhibition (Korea Pharm & Bio), which will be held at the 7th Hall of KINTEX 2 during the same period.

At Korea Pack 2022, there is a special exhibition hall to pay attention to under the theme of 'Packaging industry attracting attention as a sustainable future knowledge industry'. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology's Korea Packaging Center will hold the "Korea Star Awards" and set up an exhibition corner for winning works in 2022 to improve corporate and national competitiveness by discovering excellent packaging. The Korea Packaging Center plans to encourage packaging industry workers by handing out government awards to outstanding technology and industrial development contributors in the packaging industry, and promote the winning works to packaging users and buyers.

A special pavilion will also be introduced to showcase eco-friendly bioplastics, which is attracting attention in the eco-age. The 'Special Exhibition & Conference for Sustainable Plastic Packaging', where eco-friendly plastic materials, containers and packages, converters, recycling technologies, and products are displayed, will be held in the 5th hall and the seminar room on the 2nd floor.

The special pavilion will be sponsored and participated by related associations such as Green Plastic Alliance, Korea Federation of Plastic Industry Cooperative, as well as the Korea Packaging Association, and the Korea Plastic Packaging Container Association. In particular, 14 member companies including Lotte Chemical, Biotech, Sansu Beverage, SNAPTAG, SKC, Ecomass, Eco Packaging Solution (EPS), YUDO, Esol Industry, Jeonnam Technopark (JNTP), Joeun Platech, TCP, Homyeong Chemical Industrial, JK Materials, and Green Plastic Alliance, will participate to introduce raw materials and eco-friendly productsin the booth space prepared by Green Plastic Alliance.

In addition, 16 members and associations of the Korea Federation of Plastic Industry Cooperative– IHLSHIN HI POLY, Zerust, Ecomass, Dongwon Systems, Doil Ecotec, Sejin Bio, Soltech, Green Whale Global, Dongil Platech, Dowon Biotech, Ankor Bioplastics, and the Korea Plastic Industry Cooperative, participated.

The Joint Pavilion for Smart Logistics Startups was also popular among visitors. Seven members and organizations, including non-face-to-face startup Social Enterprise, Marine Drone Tech, Ardent Robot, KLIP(Foundation of Korea Logistics Industry Promotion), Korea Deep Learning Chainlogis, CnTR, and Incheon Creative Center for Economic & Innovation, participated and unveiled cutting-edge logistics technology.

A large number of cold chain logistics companies, which have recently received a lot of attention, also participated. At the Cold Chain Show joint pavilion, 10 companies including Victex, Willog, Netmania, Bingo, RECO, DongwooTech, TM Tech, Energy Solution Technology, TAPS International, and Korea Container Pool introduced related technologies.

In addition, about 70 companies have appliedto participate, including LS Mtron, a domestic plastic injection molding machine manufacturer. Along with the special exhibition, related conferences on the recycling of plastic resources, such as technology to reduce the amount of plastic used, reuse, and ease of recycling, will be hosted by Green Plastic Alliance, Korea Association of Packaging Professional Engineer, Korea Society of Packaging Science & Technology, Yonsei University, and Media Handler.

Gil-soo Kim, managing director of Kyungyon Exhibition Corp., who planned this special pavilion, revealed, "The recent ESG management requires company-wide efforts and has a very broad meaning, but the easiest field to change is packaging. Package made from eco-friendly materials and recyclables is realistic ESG management," adding, "The goal of this special exhibition is to contribute to the establishment of an eco-friendly ecosystem."

Although COVID-19 has stabilized, this event is expected to attract a large-scale audience of more than 60,000. For the safety and convenience of participants, the organizer, Kyungyon Exhibition Corp., have set-up quarantine measures at the entrance and through out the entire exhibition hall, and free shuttle buse swill be available for visitors from Seoul, the metropolitan area, and other provinces. This exhibition is an inter-industry B2B exhibition, and the general public is not allowed to participate, meanwhile workers in related industries can visit free of charge via invitation or by registering in advance through the exhibition website. The viewing hours are from 10am to 5pm every day, and on the last day of the exhibition, the 17th (Fri), it closes at 4pm.
