ST. PETERSBURG, FL, June 30, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Twenty-seven months had passed before much-celebrated Sunshine City rapper OTM Ruger blessed fans with his street-certified dangerous music. He had to sit down for a minute, but now, he is fresh out the belly of the beast and came home this past February releasing bombs.
First, he dropped scorching hot track "Screaming in the Dark" and returned with follow-up single "Ruger Where You Been At?" getting hotter than fish grease. And now, the wait is finally over for his much-anticipated 16 Digital-released independent debut EP EOS, which stands for End Of Sentence.
"My fans held me down for the time that I was away, so as soon as I got back home, I hit the studio. I had to feed the streets with some new music," says OTM Ruger. "Since I been back, everybody been asking me when will I come out with a project. So here it is, and it believe me, it's worth the wait."
Bursting onto the scene in 2016 with a bevy of underground classics such as "Comin Up," "Jit Story," and smash hit "Shooters," Ruger quickly rose through the ranks of the regional music scene to become one of Florida's most sought-after young artists.
A native of St. Petersburg, he came up fast, being arrested for the first time at 12 years old. He would spend the next decade of his life going from juvenile facilities to adult jails to prison. To take his mind off the time he was serving, he started rapping and writing rhymes. He posted his music on SoundCloud, and it took off like a rocket.
Before he knew it, his songs were getting hundreds of thousands of plays.
"I was SoundCloud famous," he describes. "I didn't have music nowhere else but SoundCloud. Every song I was putting on there was doing numbers…70, 80, 100,000."
His biggest breakthrough was the single "Shooters." He eventually caught the attention of powerhouse Tampa-based label 16 Digital. But before they were able to take Ruger's fame from regional to international, he got popped again for grand theft auto.
Today, OTM Ruger is back home. With his latest hit "Ruger Where You Been At?" steadily gaining momentum, it's the perfect setup for his debut EP EOS. "I owe it to my fans to stay out of trouble and keep giving them good music," says OTM Ruger. "And that's what I will continue to do. This is just the beginning, a new beginning. I'm back and better than I ever was."
