CHARLESTON, SC, July 06, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joye Law Firm is pleased to announce the seven high school seniors selected as winners of its 2022 college scholarships. Six students received Joye Law Firm scholarships and one student was selected as the winner of the firm's HBCU scholarship designated for a student attending a Historically Black College or University. Each student will receive $2,000 to help with education expenses.
Every year, Joye Law Firm provides scholarships to help deserving students from across South Carolina with college expenses. The law firm recognizes the importance of young people receiving a college education to help them attain their career goals in the 21st century. Since the 2005-2006 school year, the law firm is proud to have awarded nearly $250,000 in scholarships to students across South Carolina
Joye Law Firm congratulates the 2022 scholarship winners. They are:
• Lillian Stackhouse, a graduate of Charleston School for the Arts, who will be attending Lasell University.
• Bregasia Harding, a graduate of Fort Dorchester High School, who will be attending the University of South Carolina.
• Alaysia Woodruff, a graduate of Goose Creek High School, who will be attending the University of South Carolina.
• Carlos Frank, a graduate of Summerville High School, who will be attending Winthrop University.
• Rivers Cahill, a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School, who will be attending Coastal Carolina University.
• Kayla Mitchum, a graduate of Cane Bay High School, who will be attending the University of South Carolina.
• Omar Culbreath Jr., the winner of the HBCU scholarship, who is a graduate of Columbia High School. He will be attending Morehouse College.
The scholarship winners were selected based on their creative entries addressing issues of public interest as well as their school activities, positions of leadership, special honors and awards, community involvement, academic performance, and professional pursuits.
The students also were asked to nominate teachers who had inspired them for special recognition. The teachers receiving the 2022 Teacher Awards are:

The law firm honored the winners of the annual scholarship contest and teacher awards at a banquet at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston.
