Attorney Erika Riggs Recognized with American Bar Association Top 40 Young Lawyer Award

    TROY, MI, July 06, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Disability Law Group is pleased to congratulate attorney Erika A. Riggs on being one of 40 attorneys nationwide to receive an American Bar Association On the Rise - Top 40 Young Lawyer Award.

The American Bar Association's On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers Award provides national recognition to attorneys in the ABA's Young Lawyers Division who display a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and service to the profession and their communities. Attorneys who are under the age of 40 and exemplify these attributes are eligible.

Erika Riggs obtained her undergraduate and law degrees from Wayne State University and co-founded Disability Law Group in 2019 as a small firm focused on client service. A partner in the firm, she focuses her law practice on representing people seeking Social Security disability and Veterans' disability benefits. She understands the importance of being a trusted guide and strong advocate for people who are trying to navigate the complicated process of obtaining disability benefits.

In addition to the ABA award, she has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Super Lawyers Rising Star each year from 2018 through 2022. That recognition is conferred on no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys practicing in Michigan. She also received the inaugural Crain's Detroit Business Notable Women Lawyers Award in 2017.

Erika Riggs exemplifies Disability Law Group's commitment to giving back to the communities the firm serves. She can often be found in her community engaging with non-profits and volunteering at community events. She leads the firm's community and charitable efforts, including an annual Free Legal Aid and Resource Fair to provide free legal advice and health screenings.
