Volusia County Attorney Wins Straw Poll Ahead of August 23 Election

    OSTEEN, FL, August 11, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Attorney Sara Howeller has won the first of three important Hob Nob straw polls ahead of the August 23rd election. On August 4, 2022, the West Volusia Regional Chamber of Commerce held the first of three Hob Nobs in preparation for the upcoming judicial election. Sara emerged victorious over her opponent, Wesley Heidt. Heidt failed to attend.

About Sara Howeller

Sara has been a practicing attorney in Volusia County for thirty years and an Osteen resident since 2017. Prior to moving to Osteen, she resided across the Seminole County border, in Sanford. She has been practicing in Volusia County courtrooms for years, and fondly remembers having appeared before Judges there years ago, including retired Judges Joseph Will and McFerrin Smith, and the late Judge James Foxman.

Sara Howeller is a life-long resident of Central Florida and has served the Central Florida legal community for over 30 years. Ms. Howeller attended Oviedo High School and went on to graduate from the University of Central Florida. She then attended Stetson College of Law, graduating in 1989.

Sara's Legal Experience

Sara began her legal career with the Guardian Ad Litem program in Seminole County, where she worked tirelessly to fight for the rights of the most vulnerable in our community. She later went into private practice, and in 2007 opened her own firm. For nearly 15 years she has been a small business owner, providing the citizens of Volusia, Seminole, Orange, and Lake County with representation in family law, civil litigation, probate, dependency law, and criminal matters. As a general practitioner, she has handled cases ranging from child and family law to complex civil litigation.
