CHICAGO, IL, August 11, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- meShare, an IoT platform and cloud provider, celebrated its 8th anniversary on July 22, 2022, with a special open house event with employees and community leaders from Champaign, Illinois. Guests were treated with onsite demonstrations of meShare's core products presented by some of meShare's team and a tour of the facility, including its 6400-square-foot data center.
"This was a very special event for us," said meShare CEO Kevin Wan. "Not only is 8 years an important milestone for us but having the community join us in our celebration is absolutely wonderful. Champaign has played a role since our beginning in 2014 and we look forward to growing even more as we continue to build innovative products and services." meShare was founded in 2014 in Champaign, Illinois to meet the global demand for IoT and video streaming services and products.
During the open house celebration, key members from the meShare product team offered guests interactive demonstrations of a few key products, including its management dashboard. One of the more popular demonstrations offered guests a hands-on experience in building a marketing campaign through meShare's marketing module tool.
In addition to product demos, guests were treated with onsite tours of a smart device lab and meShare's proprietary data center. The lab, called the Smartz Lab, is where Smartz, a young Proptech company and meShare partner, tests current smart devices and integrations into their platform. The Smartz team guided guests through their testing lab to demonstrate the capabilities of their manager portal and tenant app that aims to simplify property operations and enhance tenant lifestyle. Dustin Kinkelaar, Smartz Lab Product Manager, shared, "We worked hard to offer our guests a memorable experience and it was truly rewarding to hear their feedback, which was quite positive."
The onsite tour of meShare's data center was another highlight of the event. The meShare data center is over 6400 square feet and currently powers more than 7 million devices. It was built from the ground up by the meShare team to deliver the right information at the right time quickly and securely. It can hold more than 300 racks and 2000 servers and handle over 100 petabytes of storage.
Commenting on the overall experience, Matt Bradley from the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce shared, "This was fun. Visiting with the team and learning more about what they do has me excited about meShare's future and its impact on the community of Champaign." Many of meShare's employees have either moved to the area from outside Illinois or are recent graduates of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Parkland College.
This upcoming year, meShare plans to continue building the tools necessary to help companies - from startups to large enterprises - build smart connected products simply, quickly, and securely.
Since its inception in 2014, meShare's goal is to create an IoT ecosystem with advanced AI features, big data analytics, and a strong network of devices, users, service providers, and more. With its data center in Champaign, IL, research and development team in Shenzhen, and an innovation lab in Silicon Valley, meShare is one of the few platform companies that offers an open and compatible IoT ecosystem.
