ATLANTA, GA, September 09, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Operation Isaiah, a fundraiser launched by The Ahavath Achim Synagogue, is slated to start on Thursday, September 22, 2022, and span through the High Holidays. This annual initiative brings various Atlanta area synagogues and Jewish day schools together to raise much-needed funds, food, and awareness for the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the JF&CS Food Pantry.
"For nearly three decades, the Ahavath Achim Synagogue, their congregants, and other local partners have been joining us in the fight against hunger," said Kyle Waide, President & CEO of Atlanta Community Food Bank. "We are incredibly honored to have their support. These efforts are needed now more than ever as rising prices have stretched family food budgets, leaving our most vulnerable neighbors struggling to put food on the table."
In 2021, Operation Isaiah raised more than $37,000, which helped provide nearly 148,000 meals for neighbors in need across the greater Atlanta area. Due to COVID-19, the most recent initiative was virtual. This year will mark a return to in-person efforts, where participants will be collecting funds for the program.
Operation Isaiah is inspired by scripture from the prophet Isaiah, which says, "To share your food with the hungry." The Atlanta Jewish community hosts this event annually during the High Holidays. This year, the initiative will take place from September 22 through October 19.

About Atlanta Community Food Bank
The Atlanta Community Food Bank works to end hunger with the food, people and big ideas needed to ensure our neighbors have the nourishment to lead healthy and productive lives. Far too many people in our own community experience hunger every day, including children, seniors and working families. Through more than 700 nonprofit partners, we help more than 715,000 people get healthy food every year. Our goal is that all hungry people across metro Atlanta and North Georgia will have access to the nutritious meals they need when they need them. It takes the power of our whole community to make that possible. Join us at ACFB.org.
About Operation Isaiah
Operation Isaiah was conceived by Ahavath Achim Synagogue 29 years ago. Operation Isaiah's core mission is to address the issue of hunger and the need to help those in the Atlanta community who struggle with food insecurity. Ahavath Achim's Operation Isaiah has grown over the years and has morphed into the Atlanta Jewish community's High Holiday effort to combat food insecurity. A number of synagogues and Jewish Day schools now participate in these important efforts. Ahavath Achim strives to continue to be the leader in the Operation Isaiah project.
