KAILASA celebrates the Divine Cosmic Mother during the Grand 9-day Celebrations of Navaratri

    LOS ANGELES, CA, September 29, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Navaratri, one of the most intensely celebrated festivals of Vedic tradition, is an occasion dedicated to the worship of the Divine Cosmic Mother, Parashakti. 'Nava' means nine and 'ratri' means night. Navaratri is a festival which celebrates nine different expressions of the Devi energy (Cosmic feminine energy) spanning over a period of nine nights and ten days.

The nine forms of Devi worshipped during Navaratri are: Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kaalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidaatri.

Mahalaya Ammavasya to Vijaya Dashami (September 26, 2022 to October 5, 2022) is when Devi fought nine nights and destroyed all the demons. The tenth day of the festival is celebrated as Dushehra or Vijayadasami, symbolizing the victory of consciousness over negative influences.

Navaratri is a powerful time to do completion with oneself and others. It is a time to remember one's own forgotten powers. The first three days of Navaratri are meant for completion with the destroyer energy, or Durga energy. The next three days are spent in completion with Lakshmi energy, the energy responsible for creativity, wealth and well being. The last three days of Navaratri are meant for completion with Saraswati, the energy responsible for knowledge and wisdom. The rituals, dances and festivity connected with Navaratri helps in healing relationships. The tenth day of the festival is celebrated as Dushehra or Vijayadasami, symbolizing the victory of consciousness over negative influences.

Devi Paramashakti in the Devi-mahatmyam portion of the Markandeya Purana gives the boon to all beings:

ॐ इत्थं यदा-यदा बाधा दानवोत्था भविष्यति। तदा तदावतीर्यां करिष्याम्यरिसंक्षयम् ॐ ।।

itthaṃ yadā yadā bādhā dānavotthā bhaviṣyati॥tadā tadāvatīryāhaṃ kariṣyāmyarisaṅkṣayam

"Whenever trouble arises due to the advent of the demons,
I shall incarnate and destroy the foes."
Chapter -11 verse - 55

Hinduism not only empowers women, Hinduism worships women. In fact, worship of the divine feminine Consciousness - Devi worship - is unique to the Hindu tradition. Sacred Hindu scriptures clearly declare how worshiping women leads to auspiciousness. The Constitution of KAILASA, the Vedagamas, and its Jurisprudence, the Manu Smrithi, promote gender equality and women empowerment within the family and the society at large. The Manu Smrithi (Verse 3.56) declares:

यत्रैतास्तु न पूज्यन्ते सर्वास्तत्राफलाः क्रियाः ॥ ५६ ॥

yatra nāryastu pūjyante ramante tatra devatāḥ |
yatraitāstu na pūjyante sarvāstatrāphalāḥ kriyāḥ || 56 ||

"Where women are honored, there the gods are pleased; but where they are not honored, no sacred rite yields rewards."
