The 10 K-Innovation Companies of the Innovative Technology Show 2022

    LOS ANGELES, CA, November 08, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- ITS 2022 K-Innovative Showcase Awards show decided the best Korean SME out of 10 pre-selected competitors. On their products and technologies, the judges evaluated their quality and performance, cost competitiveness, potential of sustainable growth, and influence to the international industry. Here are brief introductions from the second half of 10 finalists.

1. NES&TEC Co., Ltd.
SWID is a multicopter UAV system called 'drone'.
SWID, the announced product, was designated as the first excellent product in Korea as a drone. Currently, various operations such as military/firefighting/local government are using it for regional surveillance, reconnaissance, facility inspection, and disaster site monitoring. In addition, we are expanding the scope of operation by applying additional functions to attack and rescue drones.

2. Kanavi Mobility
The scanning lidar is a sensor that emits multiple laser beams at a certain angle and measures the time of the reflected laser beams to obtain Time of Flight (ToF) images. It is mounted on high and low-speed moving objects such as autonomous vehicles and industrial robots. Also, it acquires images and informations of surrounding objects and location. It emits a laser beam at a distance of up to 150m.

The lidar also acquires a number of information, including distance to the sensing object, directional data, and relative velocity. In other words, LIDAR provides source information to enable autonomous driving by acquiring information on objects (pedestrian, automobile, structure, road surface condition, etc.).

3. Everchemtech, Inc.
The oxygen barrier layer of food packaging is a functional coating layer that blocks oxygen to prevent deterioration within the distribution or warranty period of food. Everchemtech's NEXRIER is whey protein, which is a leftover by-product from cheese. NEXRIER has excellent oxygen barrier to replace EVOH. It is expected to be able to produce at a cost savings of 30-40% over EVOH. It will be the world's first commercialization technology that can break the limitations of existing barrier materials such as deposition, aluminum, and EVOH, which have low recycling performance and high dependence on foreign countries.

4. IntelliVIX
Apparatus for Edge-type Video Analytics Based on Deep Learning(DCNN) is a device on AI product that integrates edge computing H/W and AI-based real-time video analytics S/W by applying multiple area of interest (ROI) and N-Skip functions, which are two core technologies of our R&D patents. C It is an edge-type video analytics device based on DCNN, a product of 4th Industrial Digital New Deal that detects, tracks, and classifies real-time video through CCTV CAMERA.

5. Jeejun Systems Co., Ltd.
The intelligent parking lot integrated management system considering C.S.S.(Clean, Safe, Save) is a system that can commercialize Bluetooth mesh communication technology to demonstrate various convenience functions in the underground parking lot. It consists of one-pass, emergency bell, parking guidance and video monitoring, LED lighting dimming control, integrated mold bar, and broadcasting system. The one-pass function allows automatic opening of the common front door and calling the elevator when carrying a one-pass key, and the emergency bell enables two-way communication between the information room and the user through quick notification in case of an emergency. In addition, when vehicles enter and exit the parking lot, the parking status is displayed on the smartphone app to guide the optimal parking location, and video monitoring is possible with an integrated CCTV of the mold bar. The LED lighting dimming control allows brightness to be adjusted according to motion detection, and the installation of an integrated mold bar enables the integration of various equipment pipes and wiring for electricity, communication, and fire fighting to improve construction and maximize system operation efficiency. It is an intelligent parking lot integrated management system that improves user satisfaction by applying CEPTED (Crime Prevention Environmental Design) to relieve anxiety about crimes and accidents in underground parking lots.

Before the 'K-Innovation Company Showcase', the organizers held the competition on innovative and pioneering Korean startups, for a chance to present their new product and technology on stage. Out of the 245 SMEs that applied, 10 companies won the fierce competition of 24 to 1, to showcase their new technology and products as finalists.

Following 10 finalists made to the showcase stage: Kanavi Mobility (scanning LiDAR sensor products), EVERCHEMTECH (eco-friendly material, NEXRIER), IntelliVIX (deep learning-based CCTV video analyzer), Jijun System (intelligent general parking management system), Secuworks (sound field security sensor), NES&TEC (multi-purpose drones), JPS (electric band for packaging steel products), Ison (drone charging station), SHENB (high-frequency energy utilizing medical devices), P&S Technology (food and beverage (PET bottle) defect inspection equipment).

SINA (China), Vietnamplus (Vietnam), Lecafedugeek (France), Techno-edge (Japan), Ubergizmo (USA), AVING Global (Korea), and STARTUPWORLD.TECH (Europe) attended as the global media judges on the K-Innovation Company Showcase.

JPES won the grand prize with the core unit of steel packaging and bundling equipment, which automatically bands and binds steel products like steel coils and pipes. EVERCHEMTECH, which showcased an environmental high-barrier film with higher oxygen barrier properties than existing high-barrier materials and high recyclability, and SHENB, which exhibited medical devices that use high-frequency energy to treat facial diseases like ptosis, blemishes, and acne, won Excellence Award.

Hosted and overseen by 7 organizations including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Innobiz Association, the '23rd Innovative Technology Show (ITS 2022)' concluded as the Korea's biggest SME centered innovative technology event. With the theme of "Tech-Innovation, Talk to the Future!", the event consisted of multiple events including the K-Innovation Company Showcase, Innovative Technology Seminar, key contributor awards, and overseas technology exchange. The organizers chose digital transformation and carbon neutrality, as major agendas for SMEs today. They also discussed the direction for innovative tech SMEs in the digital economy era.
