Ukrainian Doctors Urgently Need VAC Machines To Treat Wounded Ukrainian Soldiers: You Can Help

The Soborna Charity Fund has begun raising funds to solve the problem of the shortage of VACs.

Now medical specialists urgently need VACs and consumables in 31 medical institution of Ukraine

NEW YORK, NY, November 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ukrainians defend their country for about nine months. Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers are injured with serious consequences every day.

Ukrainian doctors ask for help with vacuum assisted closure devices (VAC) that heal wounds faster. Now medical specialists urgently need VACs and consumables in 31 medical institution of Ukraine [1].

VAC therapy is a method of wound treatment based on the effect of negative pressure on the surface of the wound, which significantly accelerates its healing.

Oleksandr Soldatkin, an orthopedic traumatologist at the Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital, spoke about the effectiveness of VACs in treating combat injuries:

"For example, if a wound doesn't heal for several weeks during conventional treatment, then switching to VAC therapy helps to close the wound within approximately ten days."

This means that more than 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers will recover at least two times faster because 3,500 of their severe wounds will heal safely [2].

The Soborna Charity Fund has begun raising funds to solve the problem of the shortage of VACs.

Currently, Ukrainian hospitals have already received 10 VAC machines, 260 exudate containers, and 555 dressing kits, costing 48,312 USD. But this is only the beginning because the total cost of purchasing VACs and consumables for them is more than 1,300,000 USD.
