The Fitch Law Firm Announces New Truck Accident Awareness Scholarship

    COLUMBUS, OH, November 19, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Fitch Law Firm, a longtime traffic safety advocate, proudly announces its new Truck Accident Awareness Scholarship. This is the first time we have given a $2,500 academic award to a deserving college student who shares our belief that truck safety is essential to everyone's well-being, including those not behind the wheel.

We know that our nation's economy heavily depends on the trucking industry, which employs at least 3.5 million people in the U.S., according to the United States Census Bureau. Still, commercial trucks are highly dangerous, and accidents involving them cause fatalities and severe injuries. We believe our highways, byways, and local roads are among the most dangerous places for vehicles, and more must be done to make them safer for road and non-road users.

The deadline to apply for the Truck Accident Awareness Scholarship is June 15, 2023. The Fitch Law Firm's Truck Accident Awareness Scholarship is open to any undergraduate or graduate student. Here are the criteria all applicants must meet:

- 3.0 or higher GPA (unofficial transcript must accompany the application)
- Admitted to or enrolled in an accredited college/university or graduate school
- Be a United States citizen or otherwise authorized to work or attend school in the United States
- Write and submit a 1,000- to 1,500-word original essay on the proposed topic (see below)
- Applying for the scholarship using the form on this page
- You must agree to the scholarship's terms and conditions.
- Submit the necessary application materials

Truck accidents have caused more than 4,000 deaths in recent years, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). As part of the scholarship application, we ask applicants to get creative and share their thoughts and ideas in an original essay to raise awareness of commercial truck accidents and promote road safety measures for large trucks.

The essay can be between 1,000 and 1,500 words. While we encourage innovative thinking, we also want to hear practicable solutions, so students can keep this in mind as they write their essays.
