"We will do our best to add knowledge through communication and share love." - Shincheonji Church of Jesus
GWACHEON, KOREA, November 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- South Korea-based Shincheonji Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (referred to as Shincheonji Church of Jesus) signed an MOU with 125 domestic pastors. The largest proportion of these pastors belong to the Presbyterian Church, which is the largest denomination in Korea. Among the 125 pastors who signed the MOU, 87 were members of the Presbyterian Church, accounting for 70%. Full Gospel followed with 4% (5 people), and pastors belonging to the Baptist Church had 3.2% (4 people).
In addition, various denominations such as Holiness Church, Methodist Church, Pentecostal Church, and Anglican Church were participating in the exchange, as well as Missionary Church, Prayer Center, and Theological Seminary.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus announced that 88 of the 125 pastors who signed the MOU completed the Zion Christian Mission Center (10-month Bible course) curriculum, and the rest of the pastors are currently studying. Among those others, 20 answered that they had preached at their church reflecting the contents of the curriculum at least once. Further, the majority of the 125 pastors who signed the MOU responded that they had received great help in preparing their sermons, and are recommending MOUs for inter-church exchange to pastors around them.
In this regard, through a clear interpretation of the prophetic books and teachings based on the Bible, it is perfect for church members who are disappointed in the reality of the current religious world and want to practice their faith properly. An official from Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, "Word-centered teaching and faith are the only alternatives to solve the decline in the church population, but there are quite a few pastors who have difficulties in ministry due to the lack of related education. We will do our best to add knowledge through communication and share love."
The inter-church exchange MOU of Shincheonji Church of Jesus was proposed by about 40 African pastors who attended an online seminar for pastors held in August 2021 titled "We Are One in GOD." With this as an opportunity, on September 26 of the same year, the first MOU was signed with the Church of the Presence and Worship of God in Uganda, after which more than 3,000 agreements were recorded in 67 countries. It is the hope of Shincheonji Church of Jesus that more pastors will come to hear this education that has led so many pastors to sign MOUs and MOAs in 2022.
