    HALTOM CITY, TX, March 01, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark your calendar for Thursday, March 30th! Author Ron Sturgeon, who started his first business in Haltom City some 50 years ago, will be signing his new book at the Tarrant Events Center located at 5230 Denton Highway (off Loop 820) in Haltom City. The March 30th book signing will be held at the Tarrant Events Center (TEC) between 5-7pm. TEC is easy to find at 5230 Denton Highway (just north of 820 on Denton Hwy) and has plenty of free parking. The book signing is a family- and dog-friendly event. Complimentary hot dogs and soft drinks will be served. Ron says, "Haltom City is a diamond in the rough; let's work together to bring it back to its former glory."

The original version of Keeping the Lights on Downtown in America's Small Cities: The Critical Role Small Businesses Play in Bringing Back Jobs & Prosperity was published in the spring of 2022 and has numerous five-star reviews on Amazon.com. The newly released 2nd Edition includes seven additional chapters that includes lessons Ron has learned in the fight to return prosperity to South and Central Haltom City.

Book co-author Ron Sturgeon is a successful entrepreneur who has become increasingly dismayed by the ongoing decline in the older corridors of Haltom City. His recent first-hand experience navigating the excessive hurdles involved in getting approval to open another new small business in Haltom City was eye-opening and led him to found the Haltom United Business Alliance (HUBA), a group that represents small business owners and attempts to advocate for reforms to make Haltom City more small-business friendly.

In 2022, he launched Make Haltom City Thrive Again, a movement focused on the need for city council members to take action that will spur population growth and revitalize declining corridors including Denton Highway, Belknap, Carson and NE 28th Street.
