AVON THEATRE FILM CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    STAMFORD, CT, June 13, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Avon Theatre Film Center Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Peter H. Gistelinck as its new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2023. Gistelinck was unanimously approved by the Avon Board of Directors following a nationwide candidate search.

His vast experience in the Arts and the non-profit world will play a key role as we initiate the Avon reCreated campaign to raise the funds that will bring the Avon into the 21st century. With this campaign, the Avon will have state-of-the-art film technology, a totally renovated interior, an additional third screen and a fully ADA accessible facility," said Avon Theatre Film Center Co-Board Chairs Susan Cullman and Arthur Selkowitz.

Gistelinck joins the Avon Theatre from Berkeley Heights, NJ where he was Executive Director of the renowned Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, the largest performing arts after-school education program in the state of New Jersey, from 2019 through 2023. The mission of the Avon Theatre Film Center, a non-profit Independent Arts theater, is to preserve and operate the historic Avon Theatre by providing a culturally significant film, educational and programmatic palette, which draws patrons from the greater Stamford region.
