Our goal is to foster an environment that embraces all colors, cultures, and identities, empowering underrepresented talent and providing them with the opportunities they deserve.
DENVER, CO, August 22, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Color of Fashion, a non-profit organization founded by visionary black female entrepreneurs Samantha Joseph and Alicia Myers, aims to revolutionize the fashion industry by promoting inclusivity, diversity, and racial equality.
The inception of Color of Fashion can be traced back to a pivotal moment when stylists encountered difficulties in managing the hair of Joseph and Myers while they were working for high-fashion events. This regrettably led to their needs being overlooked. Myers endured several bleach treatments, which had devastating consequences, causing significant hair damage and loss. Motivated by this experience, Joseph and Myers recognized the need to instigate a positive change in the industry that empowers multi-ethnic models.
Color of Fashion's mission is to highlight all colors of fashion and beauty and promote their significance in advancing racial equality. By recognizing underrepresented talents from diverse backgrounds, the organization seeks to challenge conventional norms and reshape perceptions of beauty and style.
Since its inception in 2021, Color of Fashion has grown significantly, culminating in the eagerly awaited FALL season featuring two captivating events, Carnaval and Bon Voyage. The organization has impressively doubled its guest capacity and expanded collaborations with visionary designers. These events are meticulously produced to provide an immersive experience for the audience. Carnaval promises a nostalgic and cinematic ambiance in partnership with Matthew Morris Salon and the Matthew Morris Scholarship fund. Bon Voyage will be a transportive night with cross-border designer collaborations and duo debuts.
"We believe that fashion is a powerful medium that should reflect the rich diversity of our society," said Samantha Joseph, one of the founders. "Our goal is to foster an environment that embraces all colors, cultures, and identities, empowering underrepresented talent and providing them with the opportunities they deserve."
Color of Fashion is dedicated to creating meaningful collaborations, partnerships, and annual fashion shows to usher in equitable opportunities within the industry.
Color of Fashion is a black female-owned non-profit organization founded to elevate fashion and promote inclusivity by bridging the gap between diversity and high fashion, exemplifying the significance of racial equality by creating relevant opportunities for all to thrive.
