Celebrating Virginia Wine Month

October will also herald the debut of the company's new photo contest and a variety of in-depth and exclusive wine stories in recognition of Virginia Wine Month.

The Virginia Wine & Country Gold Book is the authoritative guide to the best experiential travel in Virginia Wine Country. Discover the most up-to-date award-winning wines and wineries and use this tasting journal for notes on your favorite Virginia wines and uncover the most luxurious places to stay and eat as you travel through the region.

The inaugural 1st annual "Virginia Wine & Country Photo Contest" on Instagram. Participants are encouraged to share photos of their favorite views of vineyards in Virginia Wine Country, tag @wineandcountrylife, the winery pictured and 3 friends you'd love to take to a Virginia Winery and use the hashtag #VWCwineryvista2023. The winner will be chosen by popular vote after semi-finalists are selected by a panel of professionals. The winner will be announced the last week of October and presented with a luxury wine tasting experience.

Upcoming Virginia Wine Month online stories include The authoritative guide to the state's Merlot, written by Virginia Wine writer Frank Morgan. New interviews with wine industry leaders including the much-awarded international winemaker Boela Gerber of the brand new Southwest Mountains Vineyards. An in-depth profile on Linden Vineyards and Jim Law, the founder of Linden Vineyards. Many of Virginia's best winemakers have trained at Linden Vineyards under his mentorship. A virtual visit to one of Virginia's oldest wineries, Shenandoah Vineyards. The winery is owned and operated by Michael Shaps, Virginia's most awarded winemaker.

The Virginia wine industry combines agriculture with rich historical roots and now spans across the entire state. Virginia is home to 10 wine regions, which include more than 300 wineries and over 4,000 acres of grapes.
