This captivating billboard in Fresno, CA is a symbol of our commitment to raising awareness about sickle cell trait. - Dr. Carolyn Rowley
GLENDALE, CA, March 05, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cayenne Wellness Center and Children's Foundation is proud to announce year two of the Sickle Cell Trait Awareness Campaign (STAC), which promotes awareness and encourages families to get tested for sickle cell trait. In a significant step towards achieving its mission, the campaign has unveiled its first and new billboard in Fresno, CA.
The Sickle Cell Trait Awareness Campaign's billboard serves as a powerful medium to reach out to the public and spread the message about the new STAC program and the importance of knowing one's sickle cell trait status. This program specifically targets middle school through college students and athletes, as well as their parents, teachers, and coaches throughout California. Understanding the importance of a comprehensive approach, the campaign will employ various tools, including videos, social media, email newsletters, flyers, billboards, bus wraps, radio spots, public service announcements, newspapers, and other outlets.
With the expansion into Fresno, the largest inland city in California, the Sickle Cell Trait Awareness Campaign aims to reach a diverse and wider audience. The billboard will constantly remind the community about the importance of getting tested for sickle cell trait. The first billboard poster will be in Fresno near E. Pine and N. Blackstone. The Los Angeles poster will go up later this month, around February 20, 2024, and will be located in Leimert Park (near Crenshaw and Vernon).
As part of the campaign's commitment to robust outreach, campaign ambassadors will visit schools to speak at student assemblies, sharing valuable information about sickle cell trait and its implications. Sign up here to have the organization come to a school near you. Additionally, the campaign will actively engage with local churches and social service agencies, forming partnerships to raise awareness and extend their reach to the broader community.
Cayenne Wellness Center and Children's Foundation is dedicated to making a lasting impact and improving the lives of individuals affected by sickle cell trait. By initiating the Sickle Cell Trait Awareness Campaign (STAC), the organization aims to educate, empower, and uplift communities by encouraging proactive health management and promoting healthy lifestyles.
