Price author of the Daniel Byrd thriller series will be holding a book signing for the latest book in the series, Self Rescue (ISBN 978-1-6653-0648-5, Lanier Press, 2023) at Tall Tales Book Shop on March 17th from 1 PM to 2 PM at 2105 Lavista Road Northeast #108, Atlanta, Georgia 30329. Price is a nominee for the Georgia Author of the Year Award for Self Rescue in the category of detective/mystery fiction. Self Rescue, the latest in the thrilling Daniel Byrd series by Price follows the exploits of Daniel Byrd, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent. In addition to Georgia Author of the Year, Price and Self Rescue have been nominated for the Eric Hoffer Book Award, the Nautilus Book Award, and numerous other literary awards. Other books in the Daniel Byrd series include Mountain Justice and A Little Bit of Kin.

Self Rescue is set in Georgia, primarily in Cherokee, Pickens, Polk, and Ben Hill counties, as well as, El Paso, TX, and Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. The book follows a group of smugglers run by a former CIA contract officer who currently runs a counterterrorism camp in South Georgia. This group brings crystal meth from the Texas/Mexican border under the noses of law enforcement to Georgia, there to be distributed across the eastern United States to fund their activities. They seem untouchable until Daniel Byrd gets on the case.

About Phillip W. Price

Phillip W. Price began his law enforcement career in 1974 at the age of 19. In 1978 Price was hired by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) as a Special Agent. Price served in various capacities with the GBI. Price retired as a Special Agent in Charge (SAC) in 2006.

In 2010 Price was hired to lead the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad. Price re-retired on December 17, 2021.
