The new shop also carries hair accessories and tools for every hair need.

Shawver believes that being a stylist is more than simply working with hair; it's all about connecting with people.

Shawver attended Ogle Beauty College and has worked in the beauty industry for 17 years. A Wella stylist, Shawver uses Koleston permanent color and relies on Malibu C products for scalp wellness treatments. If clients are looking for a "clean option," she offers Innersense Beauty styling products.

To keep her skills sharp, she participates in monthly continuing education with Malibu C and Innersense Beauty, along with attending a quarterly hands-on color class. And in her spare time, Shawver is working to become certified in trichology, which is the study of problems related to the hair and scalp. Following certification, her plans include offering specialized services for hair loss and scalp conditions.

Hair by Ashley Shawver is currently accepting new clients by appointment only, through her booking site. Hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday; noon-8 p.m. Thursday; and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday; with Wednesday openings available by appointment only.
