US SIF announces 2024 Peter DeSimone Student Scholarship recipients

    WASHINGTON, DC, June 20, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- US SIF: The Sustainable Investment Forum has announced the 2024 winners of the Peter DeSimone Student Scholarship.

The scholarship provides undergraduate and graduate students interested in a career in sustainable investing the opportunity to attend the US SIF FORUM, which will take place June 24-26, 2024, at the Swissotel in Chicago, IL. The scholarship is intended to both enhance the diversity of the field and introduce students to the sustainable investment industry.

"The future of sustainable investing is full of opportunity, and this year's Peter DeSimone Student Scholars show how the next generation is rising to the occasion," said Maria Lettini, CEO of US SIF. "We welcome these future leaders of the industry to US SIF FORUM 2024, where they will deepen their understanding of sustainability, while building professional connections with leaders in the investing industry."

The students come from a variety of life experiences, professional backgrounds and degree programs. This year's scholarship recipients are:

The scholarship is named for Peter DeSimone, who had a 20-year career in sustainable investment before his death in 2014 at the age of 43. Peter was a US SIF staff member for several years, inaugurating the position of Policy Director and helping to launch US SIF's first conference.

These scholarships are made possible through the sponsorship of Boston Trust Walden, Calvert Impact Capital and Praxis Mutual Funds.
