On Friday , June 6th at 8 p.m., the Cady Finlayson Band brings spirited Irish music to the Good Coffeehouse Music Parlor, 53 Prospect Park West @2nd St. in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The Good Coffeehouse is an acoustic listening room open to all ages. Admission is $10/$6 kids ( 2/3 subway train to Grand Army Plaza.).
Cady's music blends traditional Irish fiddle tunes with American folk melodies and world music percussion. The performance will include fiddle selections from Cady Finlayson's Irish Coffee CD , which was nominated for Best Celtic CD of 2007 by the NAR Lifestyle Awards. Her international band includes Dublin-born singer Marina Meyler, and French guitarist Vita Tanga.

Cady has performed in 30 U.S. states, at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Breezy Point National Park and the East Providence Heritage Festival. Music from her Harp and Shamrock CD is featured in Irish-American baseball film, "The Emerald Diamond" and her playing can be heard in Irish film"Snakes and Ladders", Japanese Car DVD Magazine and on an Irish aerobics/exercise DVD. The Good Coffeehouse performance will also include Cady's compositions that relate to Brooklyn, such as "The Brooklyn March" and the "Jury Duty Waltz", which was written while awaiting jury duty at Brooklyn's Borough Hall.

Celebrating it's 33rd season, this listening room is Brooklyn's home for acoustic roots and is located inside the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, bsec.org
Audiences are invited to have coffee and listen to music in a concert setting.
