IRVING, TX, August 30, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Plastics Pipe Institute (PPI), the leading North America trade association representing the plastic pipe industry, is searching for a Director of Sustainability & Advocacy. This essential position is designed to enhance the group's mission to champion the advancement, acceptance, and use of sustainable, resilient plastic pipe systems.

Reporting to the President of PPI, key responsibilities include leading the PPI Sustainability Committee, developing and refining messaging that emphasizes the sustainability and resilience of plastic pipes, plus managing the PPI webpages dedicated to these topics. The role also involves creating informative case studies, promotional materials, and social media content that highlight the benefits of plastic pipes, and aligning those messages with PPI's goals.
Working remotely or at the company's Dallas-area headquarters, the Director will play a vital role in PPI's government advocacy efforts. This includes helping with government policies, directing the association's lobbying activities, and representing PPI and its members on Capitol Hill. The Director will also oversee the PPI Umbrella Government Advocacy Committee, maintain a current list of legislative issues, and collaborate with lobbyists and association partners to develop key legislative proposals.
Candidates for this position are required to have an accredited four-year degree in engineering, public relations, political science, governmental affairs, marketing, or communications, with a preference for three to five years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, digital public relations experience, and familiarity with Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in addition to prior experience in advocacy.
