CHICAGO, IL, December 19, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Internationally recognized MFI-Miami has filed a ethics complaint with the State Bar of Florida against Illinois attorney and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner partner Christian Poland for practicing law without a license in Florida.
MFI-Miami has also notified the Illinois State Bar Association of the filing.
Since March 2024, Christian Poland has been practicing law without a license in Florida.
Poland is representing financially troubled Toronto-based commercial lender Romspen in a frivolous and illegal SLAPP federal lawsuit in Florida against MFI-Miami.
Christian Poland was brought into the case in July 2023 by Poland's former Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner colleague Kevin Arocha (FL Bar #1019330). Arocha brought Poland in what is known as a Pro Hac Vice.
However, controversy arose for Christian Poland in March 2024. Arocha departed Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and this case under very mysterious circumstances. Thus, Christian Poland's Pro Hac Vice was extinguished.
For 9 months, Poland has been practicing law without a license in Florida and thumbing his nose at Local Court Rule 4B for the US District Court, Southern District of Florida and Florida Bar Rule Florida Bar Rule 4-5.5(b)2 and Florida Bar Rule 4-5.5(b)3.
MFI-Miami supplied the Florida Bar with emails from Christian Poland openly admitting he knew he was committing an ethics violation in Florida.
These three rules bar non-Florida attorneys from practicing law in both the federal and state courts of Florida.
MFI-Miami also accuses Poland of bombarding MFI-Miami's team of female attorneys with dozens of demanding and condescending late night emails.
Additionally, MFI-Miami accuses Poland of other ethics violations including sending emails to MFI-Miami owner Steve Dibert.
