NEWLY APPOINTED PUBLIC DEFENDERS OF KAY COUNTY OPEN OFFICE IN NEWKIRK, OKLAHOMA

    /24-7PressRelease/ - NEWKIRK, OK, July 07, 2008 - Mr. Jarrod H. Stevenson, Mr. Jason Spanich, and Mr. Will Clark are pleased to announce the opening of their new law office in Newkirk, Oklahoma. After a rigorous bidding process, the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (OIDS) appointed these attorneys as the new public defenders of Kay County, effective July 1, 2008. Based on their experience and highly regarded skills, Mr. Stevenson, Mr. Spanich, and Mr. Clark were able to win the bid over the incumbent and are now responsible for all Kay County cases where public defense is necessary. They felt Newkirk would be a great place to continue their practice and to better serve the county's growing needs.

About the Attorneys

Mr. Jarrod H. Stevenson started his own Oklahoma City law firm after working for OIDS as well as in private practice. Since its inception, the Stevenson Law Firm, PLLC has worked with OIDS to handle numerous conflicts from its public defenders in addition to his private clients. His firm primarily handles criminal cases but also represents clients in civil disputes. He plans to continue practicing in Oklahoma City in addition to Kay County.

Mr. Jason Spanich is also an OIDS veteran and has been running his own practice for the last six years of his eleven years as a lawyer. He has extensive experience in trial work and practices exclusively in criminal defense. Mr. Spanich will also continue his Oklahoma City practice.

Mr. Will Clark has four years experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Kay County (October 2004 to June 2008). His other past experience includes private practice for four years in Stillwater as well as a year as an Assistant District Attorney in Payne County. He has existing relationships and experience with the Kay County courts and the community. He plans to practice primarily in Kay County.

Mrs. Fera Terrell, of Burlie and Terrell Law Firm, has a minority interest in the public defender contract working misdemeanor and juvenile cases. Mrs. Terrell has been a member of the Kay County community for four years starting as an Assistant District Attorney and ending up in private practice.
