/24-7PressRelease/ - BOULDER, CO, August 07, 2008 - On a mission to take travelers to more unusual and offbeat destinations, Intrepid Travel announces a new Bangladesh adventure. Travelers will be swept away as they explore the rich and vibrant colors that Bangladesh has to offer.
Relatively untouched by tourism, Bangladesh seems to be a land that time forgot. Travelers will travel from mangroves, to pristine beaches, past waterfalls and through hills covered in tea plantations as they discover a country of contrasts. From the mosque strewn city of Dhaka to the waterfall dotted Lawachhera Reserve, explorers will discover ancient customs, traditional villages and some of the friendliest people in Asia.
Bangladesh Itinerary:
Day 1-3: Travelers throw themselves into the sights and sounds of Bangladesh among the chaotic streets of Dhaka. With 14 million Bangladeshis calling it home, Dhaka is a vibrant city. For those who arrive early, they will hit the streets and explore some of the city's hundreds of mosques.
Days 4-7: Stretching 80 km inland from the coast, the Sundarbans are the largest tract of mangroves in the world. From Intrepid's base in Mongola, travelers will spend days exploring the jungle keeping an eye out for deer, crocodiles and perhaps even tigers. They will cruise along a river to see it all from the water level and spend a night anchored amidst Bangladesh's wildlife. Explorers finish the jungle adventure looking out at the Bay of Bengal from a pristine beach.
Days 8-9: Travelers settle in to their hillside resort before heading off to mingle with the locals at the Bandarban markets. After a visit to the Golden Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Bangladesh, they will see the Shoilopropat waterfall, and head up hill for beautiful views over the countryside and spend time exploring nearby villages.
Days 10-11: Travelers will watch rural Bangladesh roll by as they join locals on a train journey to Srimongol. From their base at a resort surrounded by tea plantations, explorers will discover the Lawachhera Reserve, famous for its wild orchids, gibbons, blue bearded bee eater and red breasted trogons before cooling off with a dip at a nearby waterfall.
Days 12-13: Travelers return once again to Dhaka to celebrate their adventure.
This Bangladesh adventure is any traveler's opportunity for a real life experience in an incredible part of the world. $1070 for 13 days (plus local payment USD $200).
