/24-7PressRelease/ - NEW YORK, NY, September 17, 2008 - Web 2.0 Expo, New York, NY, Booth 19 - SimpleFeed, the market and technology leader in RSS Publishing and Analytics for major corporations, announced the third major version of its award winning solution. SimpleFeed Version 3 enables business managers to instantly create, manage, mash-up and measure RSS Feeds from any corporate content source including search results, web pages and data feeds. Global 2000 companies use SimpleFeed to publish Feeds for subscription by customers and prospects in RSS Readers and to syndicate their content into web sites, search engines, widgets and applications throughout the internet.
"SimpleFeed Version 3 is full of features that make RSS simpler, easier and more effective for companies and subscribers," said Mark Carlson, co-founder and CEO of SimpleFeed, "one of the most popular features with our customers is feeds of persistent search results."
To get faster access to more relevant content, web site visitors increasingly use site search rather than site navigation. SimpleFeed Version 3 enables RSS subscribers to do the same, bypassing pre-determined RSS Feed categories and creating their own feeds through search. The result is higher content relevancy for the subscriber and better information on visitor interests for the company.
Customers Already Seeing Success
Eight of SimpleFeed's newest Global 2000 customers are already using SimpleFeed Version 3. National Instruments (www.ni.com) uses SimpleFeed V3 to publish and measure RSS Feeds of search results. If a press release, support page, product page or any other indexed page with the search keyword changes, a subscriber automatically gets the updated content without having to remember to return to the web site.
Search Based Feeds Just a Part of Version 3
Search based feeds are an example of SimpleFeed Version 3's "proxy publishing" which instantly converts any structured data type into RSS. Redesigned from the ground up, SimpleFeed Version 3 also offers enhanced analytics and more flexible subscription processes. SimpleFeed Version 3 will also publish content into formats other than RSS which facilitates moving content into other applications and advanced syndication.
Third in a Number of Firsts
SimpleFeed launched the first version of its service with VMware in November of 2004. While the service had limited publishing capabilities, the ability to measure results of RSS programs through unique URL RSS Feeds quickly caught on with marketing departments at major corporations. In February of 2006, SimpleFeed launched Version 2 of its service at the Demo conference in Phoenix. Early customers included Sears, EMC, and Intuit. Version 2 brought more breakthrough technology included the ability to publish "templated" RSS Feeds to control the look and feel of RSS content, podcast support, secure Feeds to control content distribution and the ability to integrate with structured content such as content management systems and other RSS Feeds.
SimpleFeed Version 3 arrives as RSS usage reaches the mainstream. According to a recent study by Universal McCann 56% of internet users use RSS Feeds. Customers read these feeds through RSS Readers, Widgets, or as syndicated content on other web sites. As a result, customers are increasingly interacting with companies off the corporate web site. This presents content presentation and measurement challenges for corporations. With SimpleFeed Version 3 business managers can use any type of content to create feeds which reflect their brand and determine whether these feeds are generating business benefit.
