COLLEGE STATION, TX, September 27, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leonarda Horvat, Chief Information Officer and Director of Information Systems for the Texas Engineering Experiment Station, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of information resource management.

Ms. Horvat has 28 years of professional experience, with the last 18 of these years spent with the Texas Engineering Experiment Station, a Texas A&M University System engineering research agency. Her expertise lies in information resource management, project development and system implementation. As chief information officer and director of information systems, she is responsible for managing agency enterprise information systems, advising on the development of information technology strategies, and serving as a liaison between her company and outside agencies. Additionally, she develops plans, standards and policies for technical teams, and ensures that they are cost-effective and in compliance with state regulations. She credits her success to her determination, personal drive and commitment to keeping her knowledge updated.

Originally from Croatia, Ms. Horvat received her Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Zagreb in 1984. She is an Information Technology Professional with specialization in Enterprise Information System Development and Implementation. She is a member of the Texas A&M University System Information Technology Governance Committee, and the Chief Information Officer Council. She was honored with a Golden Plaque for her contribution to information technology development in Croatia.
