Alisa Henning, CNM Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

    ALBUQUERQUE, NM, October 16, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alisa Henning, CNM, Co-Founder, President and Center Director of Full Circle Midwifery Birth & Health Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of childbirth care.

With eight years of experience in the healthcare industry, Ms. Henning has distinguished herself in the areas of family planning, prenatal care, natural childbirth and breastfeeding assistance. She has worked in hospitals as well as birth centers and feels that the out-of-hospital setting is more compatible with her philosophy of midwifery. Ms. Henning, along with her colleague Abigail Eaves, CNM, is now developing an accredited, non-profit birth center in Albuquerque, Circle Midwifery Birth & Health Center. She is responsible for writing grants, coordinating outreach programs and community meetings, establishing practice guidelines, organizing the Board of Directors, and recruiting volunteers for the center.

Once Full Circle Midwifery Birth & Health Center is open, she will offer full-scope midwifery care. Her day-to-day responsibilities will include functioning as a staff-nurse-midwife; advocating on behalf of women's choices, especially issues pertaining to reproductive health and childbirth options. Ms. Henning also currently provides counseling and gynecological services as the lead clinician at an Albuquerque Planned Parenthood contraception clinic. She takes pride in having attended some of the most beautiful births, learning from remarkable midwives and providing holistic and individualized care. She credits her success to her passion for midwifery, her dedication to women and families, and to opportunities that have come her way.

A certified nurse-midwife, Ms. Henning received her Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing with nurse-midwifery emphasis from the University of New Mexico in 2005 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Arkansas in 2000. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC).
