With more than 30 years of professional experience in pediatrics and family counseling, Dr. Ruiz-Garcia is responsible for overseeing Sea Breeze Health Center operations, treating pediatric and adult patients and counseling families and individuals, especially teenagers.

Dr. Ruiz-Garcia worked as a registered nurse for a short while initially in the US, but she earned her MD at San Marcos University's Medical School in her native country Peru and received her training in pediatrics at the University of California at Irvine.

Prior to establishing her own health center, Dr. Ruiz-Garcia worked for eight years in Peru, and then worked in Wilmington City in 1996. Now her focus is to keep improving the well being of minorities, especially the youth.

A member of the American Medical Association, Dr. Ruiz-Garcia attributes her success to her perseverance, self-confidence and diligence. Her goals for the future include expanding her practice further.
