CALABASAS, CA, December 03, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With tough economic times looming and families separated by war time events, Prudential California Realty in Calabasas, CA has arranged for a few American Troops to have a little 'Home' for the holidays. Affected personally by the separation of family, Prudential Calabasas employees are heeding the requests of family members currently serving abroad, sending much needed supplies and much wanted treats to the troops.
"When the son of one of our Agents mentioned that a morale boost was much needed for the troops serving in her son's unit, we knew we had to take action," states Nancy Cassidy, Real Estate Agent at Prudential California. "We came together to stuff Christmas stockings with things on their Christmas wish list. Since we couldn't actually bring them home, we tried to send them a little 'home' for the holidays."
The office came together and filled each stocking with treats, necessities and love. When word got out that the office was working to make the troops feel like they were at home for the holidays, renowned R&B and Gospel artist, Howard Hewett stepped up as well.
"I wish I could personally greet each member of the unit and bring a little Christmas spirit home for each of them," states Hewett. "But since I can't, I thought I'd send music and prayer to celebrate by!"
His recently recorded CD, Howard Hewett 'Christmas' from Groove Records, has been included in the stockings to help set the mood for a traditional Christmas overseas. Hopes are high that the music and gifts will help ease the pain of separation and that the troops receiving them will enjoy a Holiday season, filled with memories and the knowledge they are loved, they are missed and we are together in our hearts, home for the holidays.
