Hoseasons Launches 2009 Boating Holiday Programme In Britain And Europe

The number of boating bases on the UK waterways in 2009 has increased from 35 to 41, spread across the Norfolk Broads (14 bases), the Canals of England and Wales (20 bases), the Rivers Thames and Wey (three bases), the lochs of Scotland (three bases) and the Cambridgeshire Waterways (one base).

There has been considerable investment in new craft for 2009, with 28 brand-new boats being launched, including a new design on the Norfolk Broads which features environmentally-friendly low-wash hulls, to minimise the impact on ecology and wildlife.

Facilities on these new boats (which can also be found on many of the existing fleet) include a 240v electrical system, microwave, DVD/video, LCD TV and MP3 player - all the comforts of home. Some boats also feature extras such as four-poster beds, whirlpool baths and Playstations.

Hoseasons has introduced a number of initiatives to help travel agents sell boating holidays, including 'Introduction to Boating' videos on its website, as well as individual boat video tours, to give clients an insight into life on board.

There is a range of flexible holiday durations, with short breaks of three or four nights, as well as full weeks and longer holidays. A week for two people starts from 310.

Boating in Europe
