NORTH OLMSTED, OH, January 07, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- 2008 was a milestone year for Timesoftheinternet.com, the web's number one news source.
"As many traditional publishing houses struggled in 2008 with problems including operational debts, decreased readership and rising costs on everything from delivery to raw materials, Times of the Internet has become stronger as an online media publishing company delivering news to web savvy readers across the globe," said Heather McLaughlin, vice-president.
"Gannett and a number of media companies announced layoffs in an effort to cut costs, but we've decided to appeal to a broader user base without the costs of paper, ink and offline distribution. Of course, we do offer print friendly versions for those that want to use their own paper for a hard copy of our news stories."
"In 2008, Times of The Internet added a number of technical features to appeal to more web readers. To be vibrant in the internet community, we added Google Friend Connect which integrates logins from Yahoo, Google, OpenID or AIM account into one centralized login. Joining the site is straightforward and once a member, visitors can comment and interact with other members of the site," McLaughlin continued. "Since Google Friend Connect just came out of beta in mid-December, we're excited to be one of the first adapters to the technology and our membership is already growing."
"Other great additions in 2008 include a Spanish language version for readers in Mexico, Spain and Venezuela, a partnership with 24-7pressrelease.com, social networking distribution via Twitter.com and mobile versions of the website for visitors accessing the website using their iPhones or other internet connected handheld devices. We're pleased with our results in 2008 and hope to grow in 2009 by extending our online reach even further by staying current with internet technology and adding more language versions."
Times Of The Internet formally launched in September, 2008 and served over 4 million English language page views and over 450,000 Spanish Language page views to visitors from 22 countries. Top visitors arrived from the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom, as reported by Alexa.com.
