MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, January 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- While the festive season may be over for many, the biggest party of 2009 is set to begin in February, as Guanabara in London celebrates the mother of all parties, Carnival.
The six-day event will include live acts and music, dance classes and parades, all with a unique Latino twist.
Friday February 20th will see the launch party take place with the London School of Samba dropping in to celebrate its 25th anniversary, parading at 19:00 GMT before performing later in the evening.
After that, a range of different events will take place, including the Bal Masque, which calls for guests to wear a "beautiful, mysterious, seductive and glitzy mask" on Saturday February 21st.
Classic Carnival tunes will be the order of the day, as a street party takes place on Tuesday February 24th, with those who arrive first being given the chance to get involved in a free Gafieira class.
Prices for the various events range in price from free through to 10GBP - and based on the stellar line-up, it could be wise to get them booked in advance, as well as London Hotels.
Guanabara is located on Parker Street and is open from 17:00 GMT "til late" every day.
LateRooms.com has recommended a few select deals for those party goers heading to the carnival in London.
Travellers needing Cheap London Hotels will be assured that a standard double room can be booked for 94GBP at the 3 star rated - Clarendon.
For those requiring a little more luxury and in search of some tranquility after the Carnival, the Swissotel Howard, rated 5 stars may be the perfect choice. It is set in a quiet oasis just off the Embankment and has rooms readily available.
