How can you participate?
Married couples:
All married couples are invited to a non-denominational group vow renewal ceremony at Chatham Manor in Norwalk, CT. No marriage certificate is required for the vow renewal ceremony. The vow renewal ceremony does not have legal significance.
Couples who want to get married (including same sex marriages):
All couples who wish to get legally married must obtain their own marriage license at either their town hall in CT or at the Norwalk Town Hall prior and bring it to the event.
To obtain the license application, visit the Norwalk Town Clerk website (http://www.norwalkct.org/TownClerk/MarriageLicense.htm ). The license fee is $30 and you must present your photo id to the town clerk. Advise the Town Clerk that the officiant is Justice of the Peace Mary C. Pugh and wedding location is Norwalk.
In Norwalk you can apply one day, pick up the license the next. Also, the town clerk of Norwalk, Andrew Garfunkel will accept your license application on FRIDAY, 2/13 and will bring it to the event on Saturday- be SURE to tell them that you want your license brought to the event.
You must bring your valid license (stating Norwalk as location in box 49) and your photo id to the ceremony to present to the officiant. As a courtesy, William Wrenn, a professional photographer, will be taking photos of the event and of the individual couples under the arch. Purchase of photographs is optional - photos will be available for viewing and ordering online after the event.
Norwalk Town Clerk, Andrew Garfunkel will be present to answer any questions.
