DENVER, CO, February 23, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Breakthrough Management Group International (BMGI) today announced that due to high demand in the New York City area and in particular the financial sector, it has added another Transactional Lean program to its public training calendar. The first class starts April 21, 2009.
BMGI's Transactional Lean program is a 4-day course for individuals who want to apply the principles of Lean in a service or transactional business. The concept of Lean is simple yet extremely effective. Lean helps identify and eliminate unnecessary activities that slow down processes and create waste. As a result, organizations increase processing speed and agility and reduce costs simply by focusing more on the aspects of the business that matter most. In addition, when combined, Lean and Six Sigma, processes improve in a way that considers both the costs of poor quality and issues critical to customer satisfaction.
A four-day course, key Lean principles are covered in detail, using real life examples and case studies from successful Lean implementations. Combining lectures with simulation exercises enables attendees to experience how processes interact, and understand the effects Lean principles can have on a service-based environment.
Key Learning Outcomes Include:
• Understanding the differences between batch processing methods and Lean methods.
• Reduction of lead time for increased customer satisfaction.
• Learning to mistake-proof a process to reduce rework.
• Comprehension of the concept of waste and its effect on the efficiency of a process.
• Determining value-added and non-value-added activities.
• Identifying the elements that impact uninterrupted material flow or information flow.
• Construction of a current and future state Value Stream Map.
• Definition of SCORE and understanding how it can be used for quick hitting improvements.
BMGI is authorized by IACET to offer 3 CEUs for this program. This course is designed for managers, change agents, Six Sigma practitioners or others that desire an understanding of Lean principles.
Additional course details and a more complete agenda are available on the BMG University web site.
