/24-7PressRelease/ - October 25, 2005 - "HOT BLUES" has just been released by Levi Stringer (aka tom lambert), a delightful follow-up to his previous offering "FOUNTAIN OF BLUES". With an even larger sound behind his agile finger-picking style, he proves he can deliver the goods time and again. Ten original tunes, superbly produced and engineered by Levi himself, add up to almost 55 minutes of inspired all-out bombastic fun.
With obvious Delta Blues influences, as well as elements of Texas Blues and Chicago Blues to keep things fresh and interesting, he has crafted a thoroughly enjoyable mix highlighting his musical creativity and technical mastery. Levi's love of the blues form shines through on every cut, his smile almost audible in each track. These songs feel instantly familiar, while still being distinctly his own. Repeated listening only enhances this sense of meeting a new friend that you've somehow always known.
Drummer Frank Kriege provides clean, crisp percussion that stands out in its own right, his excellent abilities the perfect compliment to Levi's strong guitarwork. Together they approach the sonic equivalent of spontaneous combustion.
Each song here is a gem, but stand-outs include: "Funky Do", with its sly funk-flavored groove; "Pretty Baby Sexy Baby", built around an infectious classic-rock sound; "Cherrie Pie", which is truly a (12 minute!) joyride through the genre. And "I Got My Eye On You", insperiational, classic blues!
This new CD is a solid collection of original works that any blues fan will appreciate, and which also ups the ante for all subsequent indie productions in this field.
