VANCOUVER, BC, March 17, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The latest crop of contemporary design and artwork has been released in the much anticipated Farmboy Brochure for 2009.
Todd Towers, president of Farmboy Fine Arts + Design presented the brochure as being "a combination of the fortification and ecoluxe trends with a nod to escapism," he went on to say "The dark cover of the brochure speaks to fortification and the vibrant colours within represent combination of escape and ecoluxe."
Todd noted, "As our economy moves increasingly closer to a global recession, consumers are reacting with what Farmboy calls the Fortification trend. If idealists react in escapism, realists react with fortification." Ecoluxe is defined as the combination of ecology and luxury but inspired by rural life. Think of lush photographic images, themes of water, wind, greens, flowers and fields. More and more we have the need to surround ourselves with beautiful and unique pieces of artwork.
Another trend identified was "escape". With ecological concerns, political instability and an economic meltdown, people need to escape. Escape as we see it is a mixture between the real and perceived environments that people live or "wish" they lived in. Part dreamscape, part reality, part whimsy, part fantasy. Escape trends are a mixture between the soft reflections of simple color, combined with the magical, immersive or vulgar representations.
The result of identifying several trends is an elegant and sophisticated brochure providing "farm fresh" or contemporary artwork and design in various environments. From hotel to healthcare to corporate offices, Farmboy provides designers with art and design in order for them to "activate an environment". Using one of the company's 16 substrates, designers can use an endless supply of images and illustrations from the companies imagebank known as the Stockyard.
