PALM SPRINGS, CA, April 17, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- George Condo is most widely known for his "existential portraits" and has exhibited extensively in the United States and Europe. His work is in the permanent collections of The Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum, and The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
The three drawings were created in 1986. Originally acquired at auction from Christie's in New York City in 1989 by a Chicago collector, they were kept in an art storage facility until now. "We are very pleased to have these unique works from the imagination of George Condo available to our clients," said Sam Heaton, Gallery Director. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 10 to 6, and Sunday, 12 to 5.
The Michael H. Lord Gallery, first established in 1978, recently opened its new location in the Palm Springs Design District at 1090 North Palm Canyon Drive at Tachevah Drive. Located in an architecturally-significant building built in 1929 as the garage for the swank El Mirador Hotel, the 6,000 square foot art gallery is the largest in Palm Springs and shows museum-quality artwork.
