NASSAU, BAHAMAS, April 27, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Several agents with Island Living Real Estate, a Nassau real estate agency, will participate in the Bahamas Real Estate Association's 50th anniversary festivities next month.
A week of activities begins May 24 with an opening and special blessings for the event at St. Francis Xavier Parish Centre, and culminates May 29 with a formal gala at Paradise Island.
Rachel Pinder, principal broker of Island Living, a real estate agency that specializes in Nassau waterfront property, serves on the BREA's Investigative Committee and Developers Committee. She also is a former BREA board member.
Island Living real estate broker Brenda Knowles serves on the Investigative Committee and is a former BREA vice president. Anthony Wells, a broker and appraiser at Island Living, serves on the Membership Committee and also is a former board member.
Membership in BREA is required for real estate agents to be licensed as Realtors, Pinder said.
"Besides that, BREA is an excellent professional organization to belong to because of its many continuing education opportunities," she said.
BREA operates a Multiple Listing Service, which Island Living agents joined when it launched in March 2008. The MLS assists member Realtors in effectively marketing properties that are for sale by making them known to homebuyers and other real estate agents.
The schedule of events is as follows:
May 24: Opening church event and St. Francis Xavier Parish Centre. Opening with special blessings for BREA's week-long varied events.

There will be a slide show presentation that spotlights agents, brokers, real estate firms and the week's events. The evening also will feature entertainment and the BREA's Diamond Awards Ceremony.
