BOZEMAN, MT, May 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BioScience Laboratories has received formal approval from the USDA to acquire, house and work with Swine Influenza VR 333. With the World Health Organization raising the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 5 in response to the human swine flu outbreak, product companies are concerned if their products are effective against this strain of influenza and consumers are wondering about what products they should be using. With the cooperation of the USDA and BioScience Laboratories' good audit record, formal approval was granted to BioScience Laboratories on April 29, 2009. BioScience Laboratories can now conduct antimicrobial product testing to determine product efficacy against the problematic Swine Influenza strain; this strain will be added to the BioScience Laboratories virus library which already contains 18 validated virus strains that have become a growing concern for infection control professionals.
