ORLANDO, FL, May 1, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Joseph L. Colon, Board Member of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of public advocacy.
As a board member of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Joseph Colon is responsible for overseeing operations of the Orlando International Airport and directing the executive director and 700 staff. He was the first Hispanic to be appointed to an executive rank of any financial institution in 1983 and has 15 years of experience in the banking industry. He was appointed to his position by Governor Charles Crist in 2007 and serves as a a liaison for State Representative Darren Soto. He attributes his success to his determination.
Mr. Colon received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Computer Science from Pace University, his Associate of Arts in Computer Science from New York Institute of Technology and his Associate of Arts from Monroe Business Institute. He is a board member of the Metroplan Orlando and supports the National Council on Aging.
