Dr. Kim F. Duncan Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Surgery for Congenital Heart Defects

Duncan, Congenital Heart Surgeon for the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), was recently named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who. Caring for children and adults with all types of heart congenital defects, Dr. Duncan has been a heart surgeon for 26 years, most recently with the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children's Hospital in Omaha. With expertise in reoperative surgery, he performs reconstructive surgery on physical defects in both children and adults born with cardiac defects and also participates in the cardiac transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support Programs at UNMC.

Dr. Duncan enjoys being hands-on and fixing problems, and loves to work with abnormal anatomy, thus leading him into the field of congenital hart surgery. He attributes his success to this enjoyment and being very thorough. He earned his MD from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the Congenital Heart Surgeons' Society, and holds certification from The American Board of Thoracic Surgery and certification in congenital heart surgery.
