SALT LAKE CITY, UT, May 4, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Frank Boyer Salisbury has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership, and excellence in life science.
A published author and co-author of 16 books, Frank Boyer Salisbury is respected for his knowledge of plant physiology and creation biology. "The Case for Divine Design: Cells, Complexity, and Creation" is a 2006 work that delves into life's biological complexity and creation. His most recent book ("'The Utah UFO Display, " published in 2010) is a scientific consideration of the UFO phenomenon, based especially on dozens of interviews with UFO witnesses in Utah's Uintah Basin. Dr. Salisbury's writings are largely inspired by his 43 years in the fields of higher education and research; he has previously taught as a visiting professor at such international institutions as the University of Innsbruck in Austria and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and was a senior postdoctoral fellow at the University of Tubingen in Germany. Dr. Salisbury now holds professor emeritus status at Utah State University's Plant Science and Climate Department - the culmination of a three-decade association with Utah State that saw him occupy the positions of plant science department head, professor of plant physiology, professor of botany, and distinguished professor of agriculture.
Respected by his peers the world over, Dr. Salisbury has contributed more than 300 articles to reputable scientific journals and other publications. He has also conducted extensive research on the physiology of flower formation, the biological clock, alpine ecology, plant responses to gravity, growth of plants under controlled conditions for use in space exploration, and the growth of dwarf wheat plants in the Russian space station, Mir. Of his books, "Plant Physiology" has been published in four editions, and "The Utah UFO Display " in two editions. "The Utah UFO Display" is an updated edition of a 1974 book and was recently published by the Bonneville imprint of Cedar Fort, Inc., in Springville, Utah.
Dr. Salisbury received his Ph.D. in plant physiology, with a minor in geochemistry, in 1955 from the California Institute of Technology. Additionally, he earned a master of arts in botany, with a minor in biochemistry, in 1952, and a bachelor of science in botany in 1951, both from the University of Utah. After one year (1954-55) at Pomona College, CA, and eleven years at Colorado State University, he moved to Utah State University. His affiliations include the Botanical Society of America, the American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology, the American Society of Plant Biologists, the Mutual UFO Network, the American Legion, Sigma Xi, and Phi Kappa Phi. He looks forward to writing more books.
