LOGANSPORT, IN, March 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Jill E. Shively Van Horn, Probation Officer in the Probation Department of Cass County, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in law enforcement services.

With four years of professional experience, Jill E. Shively Van Horn attributes her success to the support she receives from the courts, and fellow officers, as well as the continuous dedication of the Indiana Judicial Center. At her current post, she is responsible for supervising and monitoring probationers in the community, attending court proceedings, recommending sentencing criteria and conducting home visits. Her additional responsibilities include working with sex and violent offenders, working with state agencies in the effort to rehabilitate prisoners back into society and liaising with attorneys, welfare agencies and the Department of Child Services.

Ms. Shively Van Horn has had a lifetime fascination with criminal justice and became involved in her profession through the guidance and examples set forth by her father, a former chief of police and present investigator for the state. In 2001, she received a bachelor of arts in tourism, convention and event management from Indiana University. She received her associate of science in hotel management from Purdue University. As she moves forward, she will seek to assume greater responsibilities and to continue helping probationers.
